Paying University Fees

A range of flexible payment options, plus information on other funding sources

At Manchester Met we recognise that students need flexibility when paying fees so we provide a range of payment options to suit everyone.

This page is for students who are paying their own fees. If you have a tuition fee loan, employer/sponsor funding, or other source of funding, please see the Loans, Grants and Other Funding page.

Paying by credit/debit card online is our preferred method of payment. It is fast, secure, available from anywhere in the world, and provides an instant electronic receipt. Access the PayOnline service here.

You can also make credit/debit card payments in person at the Finance Service Centre.

Bank Transfer

If you would like to pay by bank transfer, please make sure you leave plenty of time for the funds to reach the University’s account. If you wish to make payment from an overseas account, we recommend that you use Flywire as a quicker and more cost effective option.

When paying your fees by bank transfer please quote your name and Manchester Met student ID number as a reference.

The University bank details are:

Barclays Business Centre

Sort Code: 20 55 34

Account number: 50603570

Please tell your bank that you will be responsible for any bank charges. This is to ensure that your bank sends us the correct amount.

Please be aware if you do not tell us what you are paying for when you make your payment, we will allocate your payment clearing the oldest balances on your account first.

Options to Pay in Instalments

Course fees are due in full before your course starts, unless you agree an instalment plan. The main instalment options offered by Manchester Met are Direct Debit and Recurring Card Payment (RCP).

If your course fees are £5000 or more, you must make an initial payment before you can set up an instalment plan.

  • UK/EU and Channel Island students must make an initial payment of £2000.
  • International students must make an initial payment of £3000.

If your course lasts for more than one year, you need to pay an initial payment every year before or during enrolment. The easiest and quickest way to pay your initial payment is by credit/debit card online or through Flywire.

If your course starts in September, you will have the option to join the Direct Debit or Recurring Card Payment (RCP) scheme during your online enrolment.

Setting up a Direct Debit allows Manchester Met to automatically take payments from a nominated UK bank account on set dates.

A Recurring Card Payment (RCP) is an alternative way to pay your fees in instalments. Regular automatic credit or debit card payments can be made by registering a card, cardholder's email address and contact details. This ensures your account is never overdue. Automatic reminder emails are sent to the cardholder 5 days prior to the payment dates and again after the payment has been collected.

For 2018/19, the standard tuition fee Direct Debit and RCP instalment dates are:
